Professor Byung-Dong Kim is a professor emeritus of the Seoul National University and a member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology. He is the chair of the advisory board of the Plant Genomics and Breeding Institute of the Seoul National University. Professor Kim authored in 2008 a book entitled “Foldback Intercoil DNA” in Seoul Korea. In this book he described so far unknown structure of DNA of the same name and explained its utility in explaining the role of short repeat sequences in homologous recombination and transposition. Currently he is pioneering the biological meaning of the FBI DNA in the age of genomics and epigenetics.
